Statement from Bradley Thomas on Campaign Status

Education

“An educated community is a prosperous community.”

_

We must stop teaching to the test and change our focus from Graduation to Education.

Employment

Let’s work to increase employment across the District, especially in Wards 5, 7 and 8.

Affordable Housing

Let’s require major new residential developments to include more affordable housing.

Public Safety

We must support the MPD but focus on prevention over incarceration.

Environmental Justice & Smart Growth

We must minimize the extent to which development results in displacement.

About My Core Beliefs

Every vote I take and every move I make, as your Councilmember, will be designed to achieve prosperity that is principled, progress for all, not just the few:

  • PEOPLE I believe in the right of all PEOPLE to be safe, secure, healthy and heard by the representatives they have chosen to lead them;
  • PRINCIPLESI believe that a leader should stand, and more importantly, should act on PRINCIPLES that are unwavering and not for sale at any price; and
  • PROGRESSI believe that PROGRESS means striving, everyday, to bring equity to all of our neighborhoods in terms of access to quality education, employment opportunities, decent housing, public safety and environmental justice.
